Maple Syrup Pie

Looking to try something new in the kitchen for dessert? Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a gourmet chef to complete this little sweet treat. All you need are some McVitie’s Digestives, maple syrup and a few basic kitchen ingredients to get started. Have a look below and be prepared to serve out seconds.

INGREDIENTS

  1. Blend the McVITIE’S DIGESTIVES© in a food processor until finely ground. Melt the butter in a pan and add the ground biscuits. Stir continuously until thoroughly blended.
  2. Pour the biscuit mixture into the pie plate and use the back of a spoon to press it down in the base and up the sides of the plate.
  3. Chill in the fridge for 30 minutes until set.
  4. Meanwhile, make the filling in a saucepan, off the heat, dissolve the cornstarch with the water. Add the maple syrup, sugar, cream and egg and whisk to combine all the ingredients.
  5. Bring to a gentle boil stirring constantly with your whisk for about 2 minutes then remove from heat.
  6. Add the butter and stir until melted.
  7. Fill your pie base. To set, refrigerate for about 2 hours.
